As you may have already noticed, Easy Breathers provides useful links and references for additional information from each of its topical pages. The following items reflect some of those resources, and other particularly useful items we've found. We'll be adding to this page on a regular basis, so check back periodically for new stuff.

Online curricula:

4-H Council: Going Places, Making Choices, http://www.4hgpmc.com/. This curriculum challenges youth to understand the interdependency between economic, environmental, social, and political concerns through five units that cover: the history of transportation, natural resources and energy use, global climate change, land use, and personal choices and community action.

The Gateway, http://www.thegateway.org/. This online repository of educational materials is a special project of the U.S. Department of Education. It contains hundreds of high quality educational resources, organized in a search-able database.

EE-Link, http://eelink.net/ is a repository of environmental education resources, compiled by NAAEE - the North American Association for Environmental Education.

Air Defenders: The Quest for Clean Air,  http://www.airdefenders.org. Want to be a hero?  Use this multi-media, multidisciplinary training kit to deputize children (ages 8-11) and train them fro their mission - to help clean the air and protect community health.  As Air Defenders, they'll learn about open burning and respiratory health through science, health, and music-based lessons.

John Hopkins EcoHealth: Environmental Change and Our Health, http://www.ecohealth101.org. The John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's educational web site focuses on global warming and other environmental threats and their links to human health.  EcoHealth is for students, teachers and anyone interested in understanding the health of our planet.

The Green(er) Machine is a philosophical guide to keeping your car from being an environmental menace. The Auto Log contains charts to track your car's mileage and maintenance, and advice on how to talk to your mechanic about your car. How Stuff Works, http://www.howstuffworks.com. The title says it all - this site is dedicated to explaining how things work. You've probably already seen a few links to this site on Easy Breathers - check it out!

The United Nations Environment Programme Global Environmental Information, http://www.grida.no/db/maps/prod/level0/index.htm. This site contains all manner of environmental maps and graphics. Useful for presentations or for research. Search by country, topic, or keyword.

Information, please:

The United States Environmental Protection Agency, https://www.epa.gov/airlinks/index.html. EPA's Web site is enormous, and can be intimidating to navigate for newcomers! This page is one of the best on EPA's site for topics associated with transportation and air quality.

The Rocky Mountain Institute, http://www.rmi.org. A think-tank founded by 1982 by resource analysts Hunter and Amory Lovins, RMI is one of the best places to find ground-breaking, conservation oriented research activities and information.

The Energy Information Administration, http://www.eia.doe.gov. EIA is the statistical branch of the U.S. Department of Energy. You can find data, analyses, forecasts, charts, graphs, and figures for topics like energy consumption, energy production, transportation, climate change, and energy trends.

The National Air and Space Administration's Global Change Master Directory, http://gcmd.nasa.gov/. NASA has hundreds of useful pages on its sites, but this one is particularly helpful because it is set up as a search-able directory of earth science topics. You can select subjects to browse, or type in a keyword.

The American Petroleum Institute, http://www.api.org. This Web site of the American Petroleum Institute contains an energy consumer section that covers oil and natural gas products, industry statistics, energy related issues, the environment, energy education, and new technologies. This site also has a good page of links to other useful resources.

The National Energy Foundation, http://www.nef1.org/educators.html. This section of the NEF site provides energy resources for educators, including teaching materials, workshops and training opportunities, online energy lessons and activities, and links to other related Web sites.

The Union of Concerned Scientists, http://www.ucsusa.org. UCS is a nonprofit group composed of scientists and citizens working to improve our global environment. On this site you'll find a special section on Clean Vehicles.

For My World, http://www.formyworld.com/. Tips and stats on conservation and environmental issues.
