Easy Breathers respects your privacy. We do collect information from you, but it is our policy and priority to ensure that all personal information remains private and secure.

1. General

To protect your privacy, Easy Breathers:

a. Provides a privacy notice and/or a link to this Privacy Policy on all pages that ask for personal information;
b. Will not release personal identifying information about you without first obtaining consent; and
c. Will not knowingly collect or use personally identifying information from children younger than 13 without parental consent.

2. Basic Information

When you visit the Easy Breathers Web site, we may collect some basic information about your computer, including:

b. Operating system (e.g., Windows, Linux)
c. Browser software (e.g., Netscape Navigator, MS Internet Explorer, Opera)
d. Internet Service Provider (e.g., Prodigy, NetZero, Juno)
e. Geographic location (e.g., Philadelphia, PA; Tokyo, Japan)

The information we collect reflects the population as a whole rather than individuals, and is used to help us better understand the people who visit Easy Breathers. This information helps us identify the most popular pages on the Easy Breathers' Web site and evaluate the effectiveness of Easy Breathers' educational resources. For the same purposes, we may use cookies - text files placed on your computer's hard drive to collect and store the information listed above - to help us learn which Easy Breathers pages are more or less popular, which types of content our visitors prefer, and the length of time they tend to spend at Web sites such as Easy Breathers.

3. E-mail

We do collect the e-mail addresses of people who communicate with us via e-mail to respond to these communications. We may archive messages for quality assurance purposes.

For your protection, some of Easy Breathers' personnel have access to Easy Breathers' forums to help us maintain a safe and collaborative environment online. Currently, we do not archive forum postings. We encourage you not to give personal information or passwords to anyone in the forums. When you disclose your personal information, it may be collected and used by others to send you unsolicited e-mail. If you encounter any Easy Breathers user who is improperly collecting or using information, please contact Easy Breathers.

4. Personal Information

When you join our forum or submit writing or art in Speak Up! at Easy Breathers, we collect personally identifying information from you, which may include the following:

a. First and last name;
b. Age
c. City, state, and country;
d. E-mail address;
e. Name of your school and possibly the name of your teacher

We collect this information on pages where you can submit your work to Easy Breathers for publishing consideration or register to join Easy Breathers services. We give notice at each location that asks for personal information, and such information will be used only for the purposes stated at the location of the collection and/or within this Privacy Statement.

We send member account passwords only to the e-mail address given during the registration process. All registrants receive e-mail confirming their Registration. NEVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE. If someone claiming to represent Easy Breathers in an e-mail or forum asks for your Easy Breathers password, DO NOT RESPOND. The only time we ask for your password is when you need to access to the Easy Breathers system.

Easy Breathers cooperates with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use Easy Breathers services for illegal activities. We reserve the right to release information about members who we believe are in violation of Easy Breathers's content guidelines, even without a subpoena, warrant or court order. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful. We save your personal information indefinitely since we may need to contact you in the event we want your permission to publish your work in the future. If you would like us to remove you from our database, please contact us using the information on the Contact Us page. We maintain information on members who have been removed for violating Easy Breathers' content guidelines in order to identify repeat offenders.

5. Policies for Individuals Under 13

Easy Breathers is meant for use by high school students and their teachers; therefore, most of our primary visitors are assumed to be older than age 13. No information should be submitted to Speak UP! or posted in the Open Mic at the Easy Breathers web site by children without the consent of their parent or guardian. Easy Breathers does not knowingly collect or use any personal information from children under age 13 without obtaining express parental consent via phone, fax, or postal mail.

Easy Breathers encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to participate in the interactive activities offered on the sites. Easy Breathers also encourages parents to teach children not to give out their names or other personal information, or fill out online registration forms without the parent's or guardian's knowledge and consent.

Note: Easy Breathers defines "children" as minors younger than age 13.
